STRYMON CONTINUES ITS CLEAN
POWER QUEST WITH THE OJAI R30
Strymon’s quest for clean power continues
with the Ojai R30, a flexible five-output
power unit with variable voltage selectors
on two taps. Each of the adjustable
taps features modes for 9, 12 and 18-
volt power, covering the range of most
stompbox power ratings. There’s also two
ports for 24-volt in and thru, the latter of
which lets you chain the Ojai R30 with
other supplies.
MASSIVE FX PEDALS GETS LOW
WITH THE HYPNOTIK FUZZ
The Hypnotik is a super-heavy fuzz
unit that gives you plenty of options
within its controls. The Fuzz Amount
control has a huge gain sweep which
adds a little extra bass content as it is
increased. The toggle switch controls a
frequency fine-tuning circuit that adds
treble and bite in the up position and
mid scooping in the down position.
ANANASHEAD COMES CORRECT
WITH THE V2 SUPERFUZZ
Like its name implies, the V2 Superfuzz
is a modern take on the classic Univox
circuit that put Pete Townshend’s tone
on the map. The V2 gives you two extra
controls not found on the original, such
as a Tone knob and a mix control that
blends the octave-up feature in and
out. The V2 also features hand-matched
transistors and diodes for a more toneful
effect.
