some notes:
This particular version of the Boss Tone uses
a slightly modified transistor set, one I think
works particularly well for the circuit. A bias
control (“Volts”) is included that works as a
“wave smoother” with this component set.
Finally, there’s a three-way toggle that gives
you three different levels of compression,
and thus, fuzz. The toggle controls clipping
diodes, and the selections are “no diodes,”
the stock silicon and a set of Shottkey diodes
that provides maximum compression. The
diodes are located on the bottom-right of the
board, so feel free to substitute any you may
have, including LEDs, germanium diodes, or a
mix of any. The kit, however, includes 1N4148
silicons and BAT41 Shottkeys.
