Welcome to NAMM , otherwise known as the National Association of Music Merchants semi-annual trade show . The NAMM trade show happens twice a year . It ’ s in Anaheim in January and Summer NAMM ( which is smaller , but still pretty big ) happens in Nashville ( Music City USA ) in July . NAMM is the place for musical instrument and gear manufacturers and music retailers to get together . The manufacturers show off their latest wares and the merchants decide what they are going to stock and sell .
The gear on the NAMM show floor runs the gamut from guitars , to drums , to saxophone mouthpieces , to sheet music , to software , and beyond . But right now , we ’ re concerned with just one thing . Pedals ! According to our friends over at Effects Database ( http :// www . effectsdatabase . com /), 179 new pedals were released at NAMM this year . We have neither the space nor the time to write about all of these pedals , but here are a few of our favorites .
