UNDERGRADUATE HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENTS Patricia Murphy, RSM, MA, and JoAnn Persch, RSM, MA, were recognized as the Undergraduate Honorary Degree Recipients for their commitment to the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy and positive impact on local and global communities. 2019 TOTAL GRADUATES 883 TENDER COURAGE AWARD Suzanne Kolesar, '03, MS '11, of the Registrar’s Office was honored with the Tender Courage Award, which is given to a member of the GMercyU Community whose accomplishments exemplify the Mercy mission. LINDBACK DISTINGUISHED TEACHING AWARD William Galvin, MSEd, RRT, CPFT, AE-C, FAARC received the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award, given to faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary devotion to their students and profession. UNDERGRADUATE COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER Judge Renée Cardwell Hughes, JD (Ret.) served as the 2019 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker. She is the CEO of The Hughes Group, which advises on strategic planning, crisis management, and leadership development. UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT SPEAKER Amber O’Toole '19 was selected as the 2019 Undergraduate Student Speaker and delivered a touching speech about family and perseverance. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and looks forward to pursuing her passion for helping others.
