tried + tested caravan review
The stakes were obviously high when
Jayco set about designing the next
generation caravan to take over from
the popular Sterling, which has been
at the “top of the charts” for buyers
of big caravans for several years.
The new Silverline stands out from
its predecessor with a stunning
Euro-influenced aerodynamic, sleek
exterior. But that’s only the start…
The Silverline range consists of eight base
layouts (six with slide-outs) offering several
module options so buyers can create their
own personalised floor plan if desired.
All Silverlines are fitted with alloy wheels,
longer-lasting nitrogen-filled tyres, AL-KO
Electronic Stability Control that complimenting
a new sophisticated independent suspension
system. The Outback versions also
come with upgraded coils. The JTech
suspension has been extensively tested
over two years at the Australian Automotive
Research Centre, covering thousands of
kilometres under extreme conditions.
Jayco’s range of Outback RVs have
all been designed and constructed
to give added strength and ground
clearance for unsealed roads.
Storage space is maximised outside
the Outback with the addition of a large
storage locker just behind the rear awning
arm. The shelves can easily be repositioned
or removed to adequately store a wide
variety of items, such as awning walls and
poles or perhaps even a generator.
