A bold plan to entice drivers off a new highway bypass by
creating a free camping site has caused collateral damage.
Situated on the peaceful banks of the Myall
River and nestled beneath beautiful Allum
Mountain, Bulahdelah is picture postcard
perfect and has long been a popular
stopping point for highway travellers.
When the Pacific Highway was finally diverted
around the NSW mid north coast town in 2013,
locals pinned their hopes on a tourism revival.l.
Much of that hope was based on the
lure of free camping. Buladelah Lions Club
