| upfront feature About Our Cover Models Stepping inside Ray and Sandy Green’s immaculate Viscount Duralvan is like taking a trip back to 1965, the year it rolled off the production line. The van had been kept in storage for 35 years and was previously owned by a Newcastle family who’d only used it for two weeks a year, making a Christmas trip to Forster. Ray has carried out some repairs and restoration works including repainting the stipes on the side, resealing windows, replacing blinds and buying new heavy duty tyres. The Wollongong couple draw plenty of attention when they hit the road with the van they call “Cassie”, thanks partly to the fact they also have a couple of immaculate classic Holdens. “We normally use our HQ Kingswood Station Wagon 253 V8 or for shorter trips we take the EJ Premier,” Sandy said. “We are looking forward to having many great trips with our little treasure gathering lots of memories along the way.” RV SPECIALISTS Issue 11 Oct/Nov 2014 25
