Australia’s recreational holiday boom shows no
sign of dropping off this year as caravan parks and
associated industry businesses report a bumper
summer season, despite some wild weather.
It seems the fall in the Australian dollar over
the last year is really starting to drive more
domestic tourism. It’s not hard to see why
RV-related businesses are grabbing a fair
slice of this spending. Unlike anywhere
else in the world, the best holiday locations
are off the beaten track or specially set
aside for those who caravan or camp!
There’s more great reading in this issue
with Mal and Laraine Leyland back on
the road, this time to Eden and Twofold
Bay on the far south coast of NSW.
Their story of the region’s rich whaling
heritage and one man’s grand plans to make
Twofold Bay Australia’s capital is a fascinating
read. We are truly honoured to have Australia’s
most experienced travel team back on the
road writing exclusively for Time to Roa
