ADVERTORIAL The company also upgraded the factory machinery to deal with market trends and high production levels. The machine also does the standard 10 x (vertical) and 3x2 (horizontal) drilling spindle application for panel holes, dowel centres as well as hinge fittings all in one machine centre. Previously four different machines and staff were required to handle the panels in a manual process. This machine not only assists with accuracy by means of CNC drawing functions but quality is always assured as well as consistency during the manufacturing process. Less handling, less staff and better quality is achieved on this remarkable machine from AES. The Sirius also has air flotation tables on the infeed to ensure products are not damaged during the machining cycle. The router head function also allows 3D engraving on all products manufactured. “AES specialise in high production CNC machinery for all types of production requirements,” Schickerling says. The high range of point to point and nesting machinery running in many kitchen, shopfitting and furniture factories in southern Africa and around the world, makes the AES a leader in CNC production globally. AES originally specialised in electrical components and switchgear, but took the leap 15 years ago to expand into the CNC market on the woodworking and plastic manufacturing fields. Dealing with the professionals in this field made AES a fit for present CEO Pieter Olivier and as the southern African agents for AES and for the past seven years both parties see the value of this relationship. Olivier says that since the initial meeting in Turkey with (then) CEO of AES, Ishmet Tokas, the understanding, service levels and supply were above average, and in many ways exceeded the Italian and German suppliers in this competitive market. Olivier also adds that all the AES machinery comes standard with dial in facilities to assist on all functions via TeamViewer directly to the client. Olivier also says that all his senior technical staff received training in the production factory of AES and pride themselves on the level of service clients can expect locally. VOTE OF THANKS The CMC Group would like to thank Billy Macpherson and his son, Tyron, for all their valued support over the years and would like to extend this to all staff at Macphersons. We wish them well for years to come and CMC will continue to assist and service to the best of our ability into the future. - Cecil Schickerling, CMC Group.
