Rhino wood is sustainable, locally sourced and naturally develops an attractive grey patina that matches the other exterior finishes of the building. The timber element of HQ was completed over a six-month period beginning in the latter part of 2016. Occupation of the building is set for the third quarter of 2017. HQ Developers wanted to create contemporary high- end offices that included functional outdoor spaces. INSTALLING THE TIMBER The installation of the timber was contracted to Grain & Co and it is their largest installation of rhino wood to date. The installation of the original bill was completed on time and as a result more elements were added to the project. This included ceiling components on the restaurant deck and additional seating areas. The addition of laminated rhino wood pergolas completed the project that now features the full range of Rhino Wood’s product applications, particularly where very specific sizing and spans are required. 16 OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2017 // Seating areas are located throughout the building for the tenants’ use.
