The largest timber , design and technology event has expanded its footprint further into north Africa .
The 2018 WoodTech expo will be held at Cairo International Convention Centre ( CICC ).

Following the remarkable success of the first WoodTech Forum in Damietta in Egypt , held in November 2016 , Medexpo Egypt JSC has increased its activities by organising the biggest international exhibition for timber , design and technology in Cairo .
The November expo was held in co-operation with the Chamber of Commerce Damietta-Furniture sector . The new event , held in addition to the November forum , is called WoodTech Egypt and will be held in the Egyptian capital from 16 to 18 February 2018 as the meeting point for the African continent .
EPF shows its confidence once again in WoodTech Egypt that will host the EPF for Africa forum during the fair in Cairo . The CEO of Medexpo SA , Ilias Angelopoulos , with EPF chairman and managing director , Clive Pinnington and Paolo Fantoni , agreed to co-operate in the WoodTech Trade Fair in Cairo and in EPF ’ s big project – EPF for Africa . The EPF for Africa project is one of the top 10 priorities that the EPF is committed to .
“ To join the WoodTech Egypt Fair in Cairo is an excellent opportunity for us to extend contacts with Egypt and with
Africa in general . It is currently EPF ’ s intention to host a seminar where an update from Europe will be presented and African attendees are invited to give briefings on their own local issues with regards to wood-based panels , their production , marketing and use in furniture and construction ,” says Pinnington .
The experience of WoodTech Egypt reunites two different and complementary movements with the aim to secure a market for the future .
The Cairo fair will be a complete and exhaustive window on timber , hardwoods and softwoods ; MDF , panels and laminates ; wood flooring ; veneer , plywood , hardboard decorative and composite ; wooden doors and windows ; furniture accessories and components ; wood working machinery ; tools and cutting machines ; and wooden furniture manufacturers .
The Damietta seminar offers the opportunity to meet the protagonists of the most important district for furniture and wooden products not only in Egypt but in the whole of north Africa .
