First Working with Wood show in Cape Town

Great plans came together for the first Working with Wood show at the Polo Club , Durbanville Racecourse .

Working with Wood in association with retail partners Spiros Mica planned a feast of exciting activities for the Cape Show . Blue chip international brands from all over the world showcased their latest top range and tools on display .

Legendry power tool leader Festool has stunning new technology : Kreg , Triton , Bessey & Saw Stop . The leaders in circular saws , Tork Craft featured its new products too . Plus more leading brands such Armor Clamps , DMT , Olfa , Felo , Rawplug , Alpen Drills , GAV air products , Drill Doctor , Mag Switch , Spring Tool , MPS Jigsaw Blades , Josef Haunstetter and many more amazing quality international brands were on display . All these brands were demonstrated by the experts throughout the weekend .
Supporting the international brands with talks and demonstrations , the tool stage featured leading experts from the overseas factories : Ernst Muhl from Bessey , Marcel Pfost from Festool , Mark Owen from Kreg , and Bogdan Nyczaj from Rawl Plug . The show was loaded with exciting demonstrations of new products , plus how to make interesting project items throughout the three days .

Spiros Mica at the show . Wood enthusiasts saw demonstrations , tested the tools , asked the experts , and bought the latest in tools from the show ,” says Greg de Villiers , brand manager from Vermont Sales . “ This event was well worth it as we had a fantastic menu of working with wood topics , presentations , demonstrations and workshops . As normal for the shows , we had several show specials on tools which were purchased from Spiros Mica at the show .”
Top South African and international demonstrators were allat the Cape Town Show to share their woodworking skills and crafts from woodturning , carving , chair-making , sharpening , pyrography to boatbuilding and furniture making . Everything timber related and eco related , from mobile milling of slabs , to fine furniture and sculptures , sustainable alternatives for the home and natural resource management displays . This show highlighted sustainable timber production and the latest tools and technology from all over the world .
" This show is all about working with wood , and demonstrates the latest unique innovative technically advanced tools and accessories in the market today . We had the complete spectrum of tools and solutions for the woodworking industry that includes the professional , hobbyists and all DIY ’ ers ,” says De Villiers .
