SIA offers seamless connections between Manila and several Indian cities such as Mumbai , Delhi , Bangalore , Chennai and Kolkata via its hub at Singapore-Changi Airport .
SIA ’ s Wilson welcomed this MOA as one that will generate a positive impact on helping promote the Philippines while , at the same time , increasing visitor arrivals . He also added that SIA has plans to increase its frequencies between Manila and Singapore from four to five daily flights .
DOT ’ s Bengzon was very enthusiastic about this partnership , noting how the Indian market itself has grown very rapidly – and adding how their arrivals to the country may reach the 100,000 mark by the end of this year . He also stressed how Indian tourists greatly contribute to the country ’ s coffers . “ On average , an Indian tourist spends at least $ 1,000 . Just imagine if we are able to meet the 100,000 mark of Indian tourists . Also , part of our strategy is to make them stay longer in the Philippines by developing new products that would meet their needs ,” he furthered .
