More OFWs repatriated
under Saudi amnesty

ncreasing the number of overseas Filipino workers
(OFWs) wanting to document napapauwi from Saudi
Arabia after to get a 90-day amnesty program of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the "Nation without
Violations" that will end on June 29, 2017.
"So far, beating in over a thousand of OFWs return
home and there are 2,000 given as an exit visa. We
have been expecting 4,000 to 5,000 availees amnesty until
June 29 or more within a half months, "said the Overseas
Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator
Cacdac after meeting him in the eighth batch of
napauwing the workers at the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport Terminal 2.
The batch of 147 OFWs from Riyadh received assistance
from OWWA, including airport assistance, psycho-social
counseling / stress debriefing and medical referral.
Aside from the assistance expected to assist the
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through
the program to Assist WELL (Welfare, Employment, Legal
and Livelihood) to provide employment in the country
and overseas, livelihood, legal and conciliation service ,
competency assessment and training assistance to OFWs
napauwing.
"The comprehensive program of President Duterte
and Labor Secretary Bello is to give options to OFWs. We

spread them with livelihood programs and they are the
consumers. They can start small enterprises or develop
their skills and get new jobs here in our country, "said
Cacdac.
He also said that the OFW napauwing receive livelihood
starter kits worth P10,000-20,000 under Balik Pinas! Back-
Help! Program of the National Reintegration Center for
OFWs (NRCO).
Meanwhile, thanked the Eljhen Ancla Camlipusam,
one napauwing OFWs who illegally lived in Riyadh for
four years, President Rodrigo Duterte for its help and the
opportunity to return to the country.
"It was a difficult situation in Riyadh. This time I had
wanted to go home and I thank President Duterte and
we were given the opportunity to go home. Please
help its massive," said Camlipusam, who returned to his
hometown in Surigao Del Norte.
The napauwing workers received P5,000 cash assistance
from DOLE-OWWA while women with children are given
an additional P5,000 cash assistance from the Department
of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
From May 18, 2017, 4,000 workers have registered
to get a 90-day amnesty granted by King Salman bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
