AAn Interview with Photographer Paul Interview with

Photographer Paul S. Robinson

How did you get started in your photography career? After several years in manufacturing I decided at age forty it was time to pursue my dream and enrolled in the Applied program at New England School of Photography in Boston, MA This program was a full two-year curriculum squeezed into six months. I launched my photography career when I graduated and have never looked back.

Did you receive any special training or go to any schools? I have attended New England School of Photography, New England Institute of Professional Photography twice for five days each of intensive training on studio lighting and portraiture. I also attend several PPA seminars each year.

Did you have the support of your family and friends in this endeavor or did you go it alone? I have the full support of my wife and children.

What has been the high point of your career so far and how did you feel about it? The high point of my career was when I earned my Professional Photographer certification from the PPA. I am very proud of this accomplishment because it took passing a 100 question written exam and a fifteen image portfolio review and acceptance by a pool of PPA judges.

Describe your philosophy behind your photography and what drives your passion in creating such magnificent images. My philosophy is photography is to create images that have impact. Images that my subjects will be proud to have on display in their homes. Images that convey and evoke emotion The driving force behind my creating stunning images is how my subjects react to their images when they first see them. I am completely satisfied when I know they are happy with my work.

Do you have any other passion you pursue, like community efforts? I volunteer and donate my services to select charities each year. Last year it was The Junior League of Boston who raise money to help young women become confident and successful contributors to society. I have also donated my services to the Walk for Life for breast cancer research.

Any big surprises coming up in your future our readers would like to know about? You just never know what the future holds and what life will bring my way. I would suggest you follow my photography career and see what happens in the future. It might be the biggest surprise for all of us.
