"The resurgence is mainly due to the fact that the word 'Chesterfield' is synonymous with quality. The 1970s was the real 'surge' for the Chesterfield but resulted in the mass production of cheaper versions still seen in today’s market.

"We do not monitor the sales of other producers of Chesterfields. Most do not even produce but simply buy/sell from small outfits in the UK and China. Our mission is to preserve what the Chesterfield stands for, which is an elegant and beautifully crafted piece of furniture.

"Our core business is the Classic range of furniture, although our Tailored range is steadily growing due to the interest shown with the younger market. The Heirloom collection is something we keep close to our hearts….exclusive, unique, and at a limited supply due to the old techniques implemented (impossible to mass produce). Nothing is more satisfying than to produce an article that represents the skill and craft of my ancestors. Luckily, there are people out there

that appreciate it!"

Fleming & Howland’s future is based on integrity. As the world becomes a smaller place, this proud family business has become one of very few British manufacturers with a worldwide audience that is ever growing.
