How did Gilchrist & Soames come about?

Gilchrist & Soames’ heritage is deeply rooted in the rich and established customs of English toiletries. The brand was founded in London, England, where rich tradition meets innovation, therefore setting the standard of toiletries in the marketplace nationwide.

In 1975, the brand experienced its first forays into the luxury hospitality market, beginning with innovative and captivating home fragrances. In 1984, Potter & Moore, one of the oldest operating toiletry companies in the world, acquired the brand and launched the first toiletries collection the following year. Gilchrist & Soames experienced mass amounts of interest and soon began distributing to upscale hotel properties in North America. The brand eventually went on to be acquired by E&A Industries, Essentiel Elements, and finally Swander Pace Capital.

Today, Gilchrist & Soames is widely recognized as one of the most respected and prestigious spa, bath, and body brands in the world. They have grown exponentially over the years but still remain true to their traditional craft and passion for excellence.
