excitement. We made it. Here it was, just as we had imagined.

Now it was time to do what we do. Danielle and Krista, now wearing denim coats designed and created by yours truly, were in position and the shooting began. Danielle wearing a neoprene skirt by H and M, a sequin shirt from Ann Taylor Loft, Coach Shoes, Michael Kors Bracelet, fishnet stockings, feathered collar, and a large fascinator with feathers and a birdcage, represented the future. The mix of classic elements, like the sequin top from Ann Taylor, to the ultra urban neoprene skirt, were an example of classic meets urban chic. Danielle's Coach sneakers were the perfect youthful detail to make this look perfect for the urban dweller, but when her heels were on, it was chic enough for a gallery opening.

Krista was the definition of Monroe style. Her metallic pleated vintage skirt was that of old Hollywood glamour, very on-trend right now in mainstream fashion and the subculture of pinup and Rockabilly. Krista was wearing an Isaac Mizrahi Tiffany blue bathing suit. It was the perfect addition to this retro style and a modern twist on the bodysuit. Perfect for the summer weather. Her nude vintage fishnet stockings were the finishing touch to this vintage-inspired look. Her white scarf with metallic details were that of a bygone era and a hot trend on the streets of New York City, complemented by her white fascinator, the fascinator taking the look from pool party to afternoon soiree. Finishing the look was a Tiffany blue jacket with the iconic James Dean on the back, accented with vintage rhinestone embellishments made by Patricia Miller (me). Shooting in these locations with this team on this stormy day was perfect. Just as nothing stops the hustle and bustle of NYC, nothing was stopping this team from shooting these trends in this iconic location. We saw. We played. We created. That's urban chic by definition and design.
