Part 3

by Sheri Kirby

here are now only two days before each of the wedding ceremonies, so let’s check in and see how our two brides are fairing....

Trina and her mom have finished up most of the handmade wedding decor. Things are looking beautiful and her vision is starting to come into sight. Now its time to start boxing it all up so they can move it out to the wedding venue in the morning. She had enlisted the help of her sister and two of her friends, but one of them was called into work so help will be limited. Nothing to really worry about, just a few pounds of added stress in an already stress laden environment. Her mother smiles at the news and assures her that all will be well.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Julie and her mom are sitting at the table finishing up seating arrangements. Her wedding planner is hard at work gathering up all the necessary ingredients to create this magical moment, leaving Julie and her mom some much needed down time in order to just breathe.

Day before the ceremonies... Tick, tick, tick... Trina is completely conscious of every single minute that passes on the clock. She feels the weight of everything beginning to lay heavily on her shoulders. All she wants is to be able to have the wedding that she has dreamed about ever since she was a little girl. She is tired and her nerves are beginning to fray. Her mom is her rock and she is right beside her along with her sister. They begin the enormous task of getting the venue ready for tomorrow’s big event.

Four hours pass and they are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. The tables are set, bows are hung on each and every chair, every detail has now been attended to and the venue sparkles with wedding crystal bliss. Now, time for rehearsal and the dinner that follows.

Julie, her mom, and a few close friends and relatives drive over to the wedding venue. They walk in and immediately their breath is taken away. Such beauty is all around them. It’s just as she had always dreamed. The wedding planner meets them and takes them on an inspection of the wedding decor. She is armed with a checklist and walks them through the ceremony from start to finish. Julie is pleased with all that her planner has put together. They talk of the few odds and ends that need to be completed and then are off to the rehearsal.

In this tale of two brides, both brides are about to have a beautiful wedding day experience. Just because one bride decides not to hire a planner does not necessarily mean that her day will end up into total chaos. I’m just showing the reality of the extra stress and hassle that not hiring a planner can cause.
