The Wedding Planner Series

Part 4

by Sheri Kirby

The day of Trina and Julie’s wedding finally arrives. Both brides are filled with excitement and anticipation of what this day will bring. Trina gets up early as she still has a few loose ends to tie up over at the wedding venue. There are things that she had forgotten to handle the night before and it weighed on her mind heavily through the night. Julie sleeps in a few extra hours knowing that all is being handled by her wedding planner.

Fast forward to the moment of their big entrance. Both brides have made it, both confident in knowing that

their wedding day plans have finally come to fruition. Although Trina’s was more complicated than she had

originally thought, leaving her a bit frazzled and fatigued, she has a great sense of accomplishment in

knowing that they were able to pull all of this together. On the other side of town, Julie is content in the fact

that her nerves did not have to go through the shredder in order to bring her dreams into reality. Her mind

is calmed and focused on nothing more than who is awaiting her at the end of the aisle.

Both brides start down the aisle towards their intended. Both weddings are beautifully choreographed. Their

ceremonies are just as wonderful as they had both dreamed of since childhood. There were a few issues that

needed to be addressed at Trina’s reception, but her mom was right there and able to handle them. If there

were any issues during Julie’s reception, she was left unaware of them due to the diligence of her wedding

planner.

Their receptions come to a close as the clock passes midnight. Julie and her husband leave the reception

venue and are off to their hotel room. Her wedding planner had hired a cleaning team, so Julie could

concentrate on a night filled with wedding bliss. Trina is tired. Her guests are finally saying goodnight and

the place is a mess. The venue she rented has to be cleaned before morning or they are charged an extra

fee. She gathers up her new husband along with her mom and a few others and they head over to the

restrooms to change. She is very tired at this point so her mood is a tad bit snippy. They all pitch in together

and the place is cleaned in under 3 hours. Finally, she gets to leave with her newly wedded husband for their

first night of being man and wife.

Both weddings were gorgeous. Both weddings reflected exactly what each bride was trying to create, within

the constraints of their budgets. Both brides will have wonderful memories of this perfect day. But one bride

went through more stress, more work and less total enjoyment of the whole wedding process than did the

other bride.
