Certaldo grew from an Etruscan settlement and developed as a typical medieval-walled city and actually is one of the major tourist attractions in Tuscany as it is still intact with streets and squares, where towers rise into the azure sky and historic buildings, museums host artisan shops and contemporary galleries.

Civil Weddings are held in the enchanting open air courtyard at The Palazzo Pretorio, the former residence of the Florentine governors. This building is also a museum and has a picturesque façade adorned with ceramic coats of arms. The interiors are decorated with various frescoes dating from the 13th to the 16th century where couples will feel like they have stepped straight into a fairytale out of the middle-ages.
