Rafeal Ferreras and Camilla Curan have known each other for 5 years. They have been dating for 3 years. They are both professional ballet teachers.They plan to have their wedding in June 2015.
How long have you been dating?
Rafael and Camilla: About 3 years. We both work in the arts, in ballet specifically, he as a dancer and I as a teacher, so we met, quite literally, in a ballet studio at the barre. We were both teaching at the same ballet school at the time and knew each other on a professional basis for a couple years before we ever dated.
Who made the first move?
Camilla: I did. Which was unheard of for me, I’ll add! I invited him out salsa dancing, a favorite hobby of mine, and we wound up not only dancing the night away, but getting coffee afterwards and talking almost until morning.
When did you know he/she was the one?
Camilla: One day, a few months into our relationship, after a long day at work, along with several other stressful events piling up at once, I found myself in a terribly depressed mood. Rafael had always been a sweetheart, but he’d never seen me like that before, and I was so
by his response. He just held my hand and asked what he could do to make it better. I knew then that he was the most understanding man I knew, and that I wanted to marry him someday. He’s never wavered in that kindness or support since.
Rafael: For me, it was more a build up of small realizations about who she is, and how she sees the world. I’ll never forget noticing how she sees everything like she’s observing something wonderful for the first time, from beautiful weather to something funny. It’s because of all those little things that I always just knew.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Rafeal and Camilla: Hopefully, just loving life, traveling together and probably planning for kids!
