Where do you spend your honeymoon?
Dre and Ashley: We spent our first honeymoon in Tunica, MS. It was amazing even though neither of us gamble. We didn’t get to go to Jamaica as originally planned but we still had a good time. We went to the Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium and stayed in an amazing room.
What did you do for your first anniversary?
Dre and Ashley: For our first anniversary we became tourists in Memphis. We went horseback riding, went to a Grizzlies game, went to Painting With A Twist, got couple massages, went to the Civil Rights Museum (this was right after they remodeled it) and we went to the place where it all started….Hooters!
Describe the moment when you truly realized you were husband and wife.
Ashley: The moment I really realized that we were married was my graduation. A week after we got married, I graduated from Tennessee State University with my Master’s degree. We got to Nashville for the ceremony and decided to stop and see some friends of mine. When we met up with them it was the first time the words “This is my husband, Dre” came out of my mouth. I was so used to just calling him “my boo thang” or “my pooh bear”. The title husband fell from my lips so fast and so smooth. It just felt like the natural thing to say.
Dre: I think mine finally set in when we went out of town. We were renting a car and it was the first time I watched her write her name. She wrote Washington, out of habit I guess, and I looked at her and said “that’s the wrong name!” Even though my mouth said it…it was the first time that my brain really thought about it. It was real!
Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?
Dre and Ashley: “In 5 years, we plan to have moved into a new house and out of our apartment. We currently don’t have any children but we plan to have at least two. We also are planning to adopt a child and a dog. “

We have been dating for 2 ½ years.
How long did you know each other before the engagement?
We knew each other for 18 months before he proposed. We met early in 2012 on an online dating site.
