Thanks to Sealey’s Tools, this month
our F7 ward got a new ECG machine,
which we have been told has already
been making a huge difference to
enhancing our patients care. The
company took part in our soapbox
challenge last year and the money
they fundraised alongside meant the
ward were fi nally able to get this
much needed piece of equipment. We
cannot thank Sealey’s enough for this
incredible donation and they are also
our fi nish line sponsors for
our Soapbox Challenge 2019
and we are extremely grateful
to them for their continued
support.
Another piece of equipment
that has arrived at West Suffolk
Hospital recently is iPads. In a
ground-breaking initiative to
enable mothers to have regular
contact with their new born
babies, the iPads have been
introduced to the neonatal
ward and we are thought to be the
fi rst hospital in the country to make
use of the devices. They have been
purchased thanks to money raised
at the christening of Chloe Rooney.
The tablets are set to Facetime mode
and one is placed close to the baby
and the other to the mother so she
can monitor her tiny tot while she is
away from the ward. We cannot thank
Chloe’s parents Stephen and Felicity
enough for making this wonderful
innovative idea happen. Karen
Ransom, ward manager, has already
told us what amazing feedback she
has had from families already using
the devices.
If you wish to support anywhere in the
hospital please contact the team. We
would love to hear from you. You can
