Gunner’s Law, which raised $1.5
million for motorcycle safety classes
and awareness
• The money funded
MSF and free-training
schools across the
state.
• Created a committee
of motorcyclists that
oversees how the
money is spent.
• Created a law which
prevents
state
government
from
raiding Gunner’s Fund
• Red
Light
Law
giving
motorcyclists a legal alternative
if a red light doesn’t “see” their
bike.
• Legislation which prevents
automobile
drivers
from
interrupting a formation of
Patriot Guard Riders (PGR).
• A bill stating that a driver
without liability insurance
cannot sue you for crash
damage you caused.
• Legislation which increases
the penalty for driving without
liability insurance.
• A law that requires the State
of Oklahoma to include
motorcycle
awareness
questions on the written
driver’s license examination.
• A law which awards an “M”
endorsement to any person
who successfully completes
an MSF-approved course
without further testing.
• Obtained the use of state-
wide Amber Alert signs for
motorcycle safety messages.
ABATE of Oklahoma prevented the

passage of legislation which would have
required $10,000 of medical insurance
for anyone riding without a helmet.
ABATE of Oklahoma has killed two bills
seeking to make motorcycle helmets
mandatory in Oklahoma. ABATE of
Oklahoma has killed a bill allowing law
enforcement to stop anyone just to
check for insurance
