LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Hello My Fun Seeking, Wild and Crazy Bike Lovers! If you fit this category, this issue is for you! We have packed this issue with an in depth look at my trip to Sturgis last month and a few helpful hints for attending the Bikes, Blues and BBQ Rally this month. Sturgis was a blast and I want to thank everyone who joined me by following our social media blitz. Wow! I was EVERYWHERE up there! Then, I finished it up by taking a 16 hour journey straight home in one day, just me, the bike and the highway on the long road home. The one day trip was an amazing journey that you’ll have to read about next month as this month was far too full with everything else upcoming. Let’s talk about getting on down to Bikes, Blues and BBQ! Did you know that this rally is the largest charity rally in the World? That’s a really big deal. Each year the rally is thrown and then the net proceeds are divvied up by the committee according to an application process of local charities in need. It’s an amazing thing to see that so much money can be raised and kept locally for the surrounding communities who host the rally goers. The riding in this area is phenomenal. The Pig Trail, Hwy 23, has recently been voted the number 2 Best Motorcycle Route in the World according to USA Today. It’s a perfect place to hold a rally. With that being said, let’s talk a bit about protocol. Remember that we are guests in Northwest Arkansas and, while we think everyone loves us, not everyone does. Let’s try to keep as many on the “I like motorcycles” list as possible. How do we do that? Don’t do unnecessary revving of motors; if you have to go through a neighborhood keep it to a dull roar; burnouts have their own place and time, it’s not midnight on main street; everyone is in as much of a hurry as you are; patience pays and the most important part is drinking and riding don’t mix! And in keeping yourself happy, here’s a few more tips. Pick up the 2014 Official Bikes, Blues and BBQ Rally Guide at any official BBBQ stand; Pig Trail Harley or most gas stations, restaurants and hotels in the area. If you don’t find the printed copy, it’s available on-line at www.BBBQRALLYGUIDE.com. It has clickable links to take you to each Venue, each advertiser’s webpage and a GPS locator Map to also direct you to their locations whether brick and mortar or at a rally venue. How awesome is that? And get this…it was created by yours truly! Our parent company, PurpleGreta, created this printed Official Rally Guide and Website for Bikes, Blues and BBQ. For more on what our parent company can do for you go to www.purplegreta. com. Sorry bout the scolding, but I saw a lot of crazy ugliness going on in Sturgis that really can be avoided if everyone will just go with a good attitude and some patience! I want to see every single one of you, so make sure you visit our National Truck and booth at the Baum Center in Fayetteville! We have LOTS of fun giveaways and follow my adventures at our Facebook Page and Twitter. I’m outta here folks. See you in ARKANSAS!!!!
