Thunder Roads Magazine of Oklahoma/Arkansas June 2017 TRMOK | Page 5

Letter from The Editor Howdy Race Fans!! It’s time for some balls to the wall, knee to the ground, throttle twisted American Racing! Ladies and Gentlemen, if you missed the Inaugural OKC Mile Racing last year, don’t make the same mistake this year. On June 17, you will have the opportunity to once again see the fast, dirt fl ying, action on Oklahoma’s only one mile dirt track. Remington Park turns into one of the fastest tracks in the nation allowing professional riders to migrate here for a stop on the American Flat Track Racing Series. Not only will there be racing like none other, there will also be a day of entertainment, vendors, music and more. Come early and stay late. Make sure you come by the Thunder Roads Magazine Booth and say Hi to me as well as, meet the Indian Tribute Riders, Guy and Wanda Cooper. They’ll have their vintage Indians that they took on the ride! Come out and play! We are hoping that our weather gets a bit more dry so that we can catch up on some warm, dry ride days. Riding in the rain just gets old and COLD. Remember as the summer heat starts to turn upwards, that we have to drink more water, take breaks before the heat gets us and wear sunblocker! Don’t make the mistake of one day on the bike turning into a second day of dehydration or burns. Get those Camelbacks out of the closet and on your back fi lled with ice cold water. No better way to cool down on a day’s ride! Bike nights! How about a night out with your friends. Every Wednesday, Wicked Piston is turning up the fun in Edmond. Every other Wednesday you can enjoy Hollywood Corners Bike night fun and every Thursday, Fort Thunder Harley-Davidson is rocking their parking lot with live music, food trucks vendors and more. It’s looking a lot like hot summer night riding is just around the corner! Get out and get it done! Ride safe and look for Thor and I out on the road! We will be coming to a place near you soon!
