As I am sitting here writing this I realized that there are only 2 more months of 2017. So I made myself a promise, I will get all that holiday shopping done before Dec 24th. Chances are slim that will happen, but it is a good intention… We’ll see how that works out. With the weather turning cold on us here in the Midwest, I’m sure there are a few riders that will winterize the motorcycle. If you do, make sure to do some research. Even better, call the dealership or shop you typically go to and find out what is best for your engine. When that early warm day pops up in February, you don’t want any surprises. With Christmas about 7 weeks away, we here at Thunder Roads Magazine wanted to help Toys for Tots. There is a page in this issue that has a list of biker friendly businesses that shared our mission. That mission is to help our Marines meet their toy needs. From November 1st thru December 17th, these businesses will be accepting toy donations. Keep in mind that these toys should be new and unwrapped. I want to thank you in advance for your support. As you probably already noticed, Megan Hamby, Miss September is on our cover this month. She was later crowned Miss Big St. Charles Motorsports 2018. To the right of Megan on the cover, is a photo of Miss January, Kaylee Priscu. Kaylee was involved in a multi vehicle accident and passed away earlier this year. Her Mom commented on a different photo from that night by saying, “I love this [picture] ! Thank you so much!!” Those two sentences convinced me to use an image with Kaylee’s photo on the cover. I didn’t know her, but after reading a few Facebook posts, I can tell she was a great person. November 11th is Veteran’s Day. To all our Vets, I say, “Thank You for everything you have done for our Country.” Whatever happens, remember, It’s all part of the experience… NATIONAL FOUNDERS Toni McCoy Shearon & Brian Shearon 1528 Matlock Drive Chapmansboro, TN 37035 Office: 615-792-0040 Fax: 615-792-7580 e-mail: thunderroads@charter.net Later, Dennis © THUNDER ROADS MAGAZINE.
