PASTORS CORNER I find myself writing this article while in the hospital suffering from kidney stones. So finding something that I am thankful for wasn’t hard to do. Just a few hours ago I was doubled over in pain. Now I am basically pain free. While I will be the first to admit that twenty first century health care in America may have some challenges but it still by far the best in the world. And I am so thankful that with one shot, I am pain free. Sure the process of checking in and needing more information than I ever imagined was aggravating. Then having to answer the same questions again and again, while in the worst pain I have ever experienced had me battling to maintain my cool. Then there were scans and blood test and don’t let me forget, do I have a end of life plan and who can make decisions for me if I become incoherent? But as bad as this seemed to me. I wasn’t the only one in the hospital trying to answer questions or making decisions that were unpleasant. Just down the hall was a young mother, her family and the doctor trying to decide if they should take the newborn or try to wait. Next room over was an elderly man and his family who were answering what may have been the hardest questions of their life. If they do the surgery their family member could be on dialysis for the rest of his life. And here I was fussing because they couldn’t schedule the laser machine until next week. I guess what I am trying to say is that before We say “I don’t have anything to be thankful for” maybe we should look around a little. Maybe our situation or circumstance is not as bad as it could be. This Thanksgiving I truly want to be thankful for what I have and not so focused on what I don’t have. So when I sit down with my family over some Turkey and Dressing. I want to remember just how blessed I am. My prayer for you and your family this season is: We’d Eat dat silver slipper casino hotel By: renee ... casual - upscale - contemporary - 5 restuarants I’m not going to bore you with a bunch of details, because these pictures speak for themselves. I am going to tell you what some of our road crew discovered a couple of months ago while attending the Silver Slipper’s weekly Thursday bike night. If you have never been to the Silver Slipper, you must take that short ride! It is perfect for dining at an affordable price, great garage parking for your bike, And a perfect weekend getaway right on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! There are several tasty restaurants within the casino walls, but we dined at the JUMBO BUFFET, and as you can see pictured here, it is indeed a jumbo buffet. I indulged in all the awesome seafood, but there were many other foods to please your pallet. They have an award-winning buffet starting with an extensive salad bar, including over thirty fresh cut and marinated vegetables, salads, s gumbos, seasonal fruits, and fresh boiled Gulf Shrimp served during dinner. At the center of the Buffet, there is a selection of championship slow smoked barbecue accompanied with sides servings and homemade sauces. They also serve Southern, Cajun & Creole, Asian and Italian foods. The Buffet dessert bar features a self-serve ice cream sundae bar, freshly made funnel cakes, fruit cobblers, pies, cakes and specialty pastries. But back to my favorite, the amazing seafood bar serving Dungeness Crab, Snow Crab, Jonah Crab and Jumbo Shrimp Nightly! When is the last time you could eat all that you could eat of specialty and hard to find crab at the price of only $34.95? And if you want to dine for lunch then its only $12.95! Monday through Wednesday is half off! So, the next time you go out to dine, consider Silver Slipper Casino Jumbo Buffet!
