All Over a Little Pot
Allon Goldberg
My house was frenzied, all over a little pot.
A pungent smell, through my house, was waftin’.
Identify the source, my family could not,
as my brother was non-stop coughin’.
The smell still spreadin’, wantin’ to survive,
my fam’ly sprinted into the cold.
The coughing stopped, red and blue arrived,
and out poured men pelted in red and gold.
Shivering, shaking from anxiety,
we awaited the firemen’s verdict.
Finding the pot, unsure of our sobriety:
“That pasta’s really bad,” he asserted.
Now, to learn to properly cook, we aught,
to prevent another frenzy; all over a little pot.
