OUR CONVERSATION Q: How is your family THRIVING? A: Our family is thriving because of the many obstacles that we have encountered we promised each other that we would build upon them. We do so by way of allowing our children to thrive in their gifts, ourselves to thrive as parents and our community to thrive by giving back. Q: How do the Hogans stay close? A: We keep our family close as we are actively involved in each others lives. The support that we have for one another is unmatched.  Q: Since you believe in entrepreneurship and charting your own life courses how important is education to you? A: When Kevin and Toushanta first met, Kevin said they couldn’t date until Toushanta went back to school after she had been out for 5 years. They both have their degrees, as it was a personal goal for Toushanta to have hers before making it a requirement for her children. Education is so important that when we couldn’t find any schools in are area we decided to homeschool both of them for 2 years. When we put them back into school we noticed that Devin struggled a bit, so we pulled him back out and decided to figure out what was best for him, which is why he know attends a small Christian school. Education is so important that the kids go to two separate school on opposite ends of LA with one being 20 minutes from our home and one being an hour. SEPTEMBER 2018 • THRIVE | 31
