That day I went to work with him on my mind , he was tall , chocolate broad shoulders sexy thick lips and he was driving a nice car , as I thought to myself . I didn ’ t have him to think about , my work is more important .
Leaving the building that afternoon , I had to make my way to the bank to make a large deposit , and there he was , he didn ’ t see me . I had a plan for that . I parked and walked over to the bank , before I could open the door I felt his deep voice passing through my body .
“ I got that for you ma ’ am ”. “ Thank you ”.
He held the door for those few seconds and I swear he didn ’ t notice me . I was looking him up and down , he walked over to the line and stood there filling out his slip . I had to say something to him , before I could say anything he sparked up a conversation with me . We talked for about five minutes and it was my turn to see the teller .
“ Give me one minute .”
“ Okay I will be waiting out in the lobby for you ; by the way I didn ’ t catch your name ?”
As the teller proceeded to say , next I walked up and never gave him my name knowing I would see him a few minutes later .
I walked out the bank feeling like a fool . I thought about this woman for weeks and there she was . Just as beautiful as she was the first time I saw her .
I didn ’ t have the courage to wait around and talk to her . Valentine ’ s Day is around the corner and my best friend is having a Valentine ’ s Day Bash at his place . It looks like I will be going solo . I pulled up at Johnny house , parked my car in the garage and walked over to the Club House where all the fellas would meet on Wednesdays and gamble . Johnny ’ s wife , Lisa , had wine , beer and chicken wings for us to chow down on , while we enjoyed card night .
“ Hey Alonzo !” “ Hey Lisa ! How are you ?”
“ I ’ m good . Johnny was telling me about this mysterious woman you bumped into at the coffee shop ”.
“ Yea Lisa and I saw her again . We talked and she wanted me to wait for her at the bank and I left instead of waiting .” this lady a lot now and you had the chance to ask her out and you left the bank ! ( SMH ) You will learn Alonzo . You will learn .
I have a few girls coming over tonight , so mingle . Please ! You know the party is in a few days and we would like for you to bring a date ”.
“ Yea Lisa , I will try .” “ Don ’ t try , I need you mingling tonight !”
Lisa passed me a glass of wine . I wanted to ask for something harder , but my mouth wouldn ’ t allow the words to come out . As time passed a lot of ladies came over . As the night passed , Lisa tried to hook me up with five different women . I laughed and talked with all of them . I just couldn ’ t get Ms . Beautiful off my mind . I started feeling sick .
“ Hey Johnny ! I think I ’ m going to leave . I need to lay down .” “ What ’ s going on man ?”

As I ’ m walking to my car , I was thinking this get together was nice . I decided to take a ride downtown to catch some air , just to see what I could get into for the night …?
“ My best friend had a get together tonight at her place , but I missed it . I don ’ t mind hanging out with you all , but stop trying to hook me up with these men . I know you all mean well . I ’ m glad I didn ’ t go over to her place because she would have tried to hook me up with all her husband friends .”
“ It ’ s getting late . I ’ m about to call it a night .” “ Don ’ t leave Rasheed . We are just getting started .” “ Ladies I ’ m leaving . I have a big day tomorrow .”
The ladies always know how to make me feel good . Knowing that I don ’ t have a man and Valentine ’ s Day is right around the corner . Believe it or not my bestie is having a major Valentine ’ s Day party in the next few days to celebrate her and her new husband whom she been with for a couple years and shared their love last year on valentine ’ s Day . This is going to be a special day . She wants me to have a date , on the other hand , I feel like I got stood up today at the bank . That ’ s why I don ’ t deal with men for that reason . I don ’ t even know his name . As I am driving , I am thinking about this man .
