Your journey to love is going to be a wonderful story to tell to the next generation, it will be the new fairy tale of the future. One day, when a little curious cherub asks you how you met each other, how will you tell the story? We have talked about this a lot. I think it’s really special that we will be able to show our kids the exact moment we met! I don’t think a lot of people will have that on film, so that’s pretty awesome! Why do you think the way we meet new partners has changed, whether it be online, via social media or social experiments? I think the dating game is just following the natural progression of technology. Technology is moving so quickly, and there are so many ways to make our life easier, whether it’s one hour delivery from Amazon, fitness apps etc., basically all designed so we don’t have to go out of our way for anything. Dating doesn’t seem to be any different; why go out to bars when you can meet people from the comfort of your own home?! It’s an interesting era and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying alternative methods of meeting someone – sometimes you have to take a risk in life for the chance at something amazing. What do you think are the pros and cons of the new ways of being introduced to love? Matilda Rice met fiancé, Art Green on The Bachelor NZ and became the bachelorette who stole his heart. She chats with us now about how the experience has influenced her views on finding love. The pros are that you have the opportunity to meet far more people than you would have by just being in the same place at the same time. In terms of cons, it can sometimes mean being judged more on your physical appearance as you’re not in a natural setting to get to know someone properly. Perhaps it makes people a little more judgemental. The world has become much easier to move around in, resulting in many relationships becoming long distance or partners relocating for loved ones. What sort of pressure do you think that has on the relationships of today? A long-distance relationship is never easy. I always admire people who can make that work long term.
