PEOPLE : KIDS THESE DAYS
Do you remember that ad ? “ There ’ s an app for that .”

!

Some might say the campaign was the tipping point for the explosive developments in mobile , and now , nearly six years after Apple first used the phrase , it ’ s dominating the direction our industry is heading .

!

For Ari ( 15 ), mobile dominates as she waits for her refurbished MacBook Pro to arrive , but that doesn ’ t necessarily bother her . In fact , she sees tech as an investment , one that can be waited for and purchased after deliberately planning around what ’ s cool now , and saving for what will be bigger and better in the next version . The latest isn ’ t necessarily the greatest .

!

And there ’ s something to be said about that type of forethought from a 15-year-old . Not only does it take discipline , but it takes at least a basic understanding of the consumer cycle , one that ’ s befuddled popularity-seeking teens for decades . Teens these days are smarter than that .

!

In addition to saving for the next iteration , rather jumping on bandwagons , Ari also let us in on one of the most popular accessories among her peers : phone cases . Of course , there ’ s a practicality to them ; if you ’ ve ever dropped a smartphone and suffered from “ shattered-screen syndrome ” you understand the benefit to adding the extra protection . But , as she dumped a basket full of dozens of phone cases on the floor , we can easily see that they ’ re also accessories to be mixed and matched among outfits , friends and moods . Ultimately if that doesn ’ t sound like fashion , then we don ’ t know what does .

The internet is always changing , people aren ’ t sticking to what they are from one day to the next ... The

internet is changing people . -ARI , 15
