STARTUPS : STARTUP SMACKDOWN
When asked about what their favorite thing was that Shoptiques did , five out the six team members we interviewed gave us an answer that directly related to the connection built between independent brands and the customers they seek to serve . In other words , Shoptiques ’ system for breaking the mold created by department stores isn ’ t just great for business : in some markets it ’ s downright revolutionary .

!

Unlike other platforms , Shoptiques offers an opportunity for different boutique ’ s personalities to come to life by diving head first into each market they serve . What that means , is that even though the office is located in NYC , customers around the country can find fashions and unique pieces that they wouldn ’ t normally be exposed to . Customers can shop their local boutiques , but they can shop the world , too . Essentially , what we think sets the company apart from others is that it acts as a hyperlocal portal to the world , in a fun and engaging way .

!

When we think of Shoptiques , we think of a company that truly offers a win-win value proposition – and they look good doing it .

!

Way to represent , Shoptiques !

!

Next time in STARTUP SMACKDOWN , we ’ ll meet Silicon Valley ’ s Poshmark and what they bring to the fashion tech table .
