THE CORSAIR ONE A s much as many of us would like to believe that building a customized high end computer is the ultimate expression of a PC DIY enthusiast, the truth is there is a sizeable demographic that simply isn’t interested in building a PC, but are interested in PC gaming. Oddly enough, I’d like to consider myself one of those people, or at least partial to this demographic. While I can appreciate those who are able to build beautiful machines, spending weeks if not months on a single project, I neither have the ability nor the patience for such highly detailed and meticulous work. While I am able to appreciate it, I’m well aware of the fact that it is not something that I would ever undertake. Not only because I doubt 20 The OverClocker Issue 42 | 2017 I’d ever have the willingness to put such time and effort into it, but more importantly I simply do not have the skills required to build such a PC. So what does one do when you’re fully capable of appreciating a well- crafted and configured machine, but find yourself not only lacking the time and energy to invest into such a build, but the ability to do so? Well, you could either commission any one talented individual or team to build a machine for you, or you could turn to any number of boutique PC builders. If you want an even simpler solution, you could just turn to an off the shelf PC from any one of the major PC vendors. All these are viable and equally valid options. Your options are largely going to be determined by how much you’re willing to spend on said PC and how long you’re willing to wait for it to be built. If you’re anything like me and patience is a word that’s only a recent addition to your vocabulary, then for the most part you’re going to end up with an off the shelf PC. It’ll work and deliver mostly what you expect, but it is unlikely to ever give you the satisfaction that you’d get from a truly customized PC. Well, at least that used to be the case until the CORSAIR ONE showed up. In a rather obvious or perhaps inevitable move, CORSAIR has finally decided to pull all its various product experts together and come up with a machine that hopefully caters to this kind of individual and many others as well. In particular those that seek a well built, well-crafted and powerful machine, but couldn’t be bothered
