G
ALAX, who gained tractions
and respect through their HOF
graphics cards (now expanded
to other components) was doing
what they do best. Which is allowing
overclockers to show their skills and
have a good time with loads of liquid
nitrogen and plenty of impressive
hardware.
Instead of just showing off the latest
GTX 1000 series graphics card, GALAX
was focused on their overclocking
message and branding, featuring
legendary overclockers on their booth
such as Duck_san, Lucky_n00b,
Mad Tse (who wasn’t actually in the
trenches when I visited) who ha s by all
accounts reached grand master level
in overclocking and many other well-
known and respected overclockers.
I can recall a single record during
my time there, but of more importance
was a great chat I had with Mad Tse
about a whole host of things within
the overclocking community and
landscape. It’s rare to find any one
person with such influence speak
so soberly and with such insight into
the overclocking community and
everything else that we hold dear to
the activity. This is one brain that our
previous interview definitely didn’t do
any justice and if possible, we will be
seeing him again in a video interview.
All one can say is that there definitely
needs to be more dialogue at this
level within the community. If there’s
anything one walked away with at
the GALAX booth and their presence
it’s that the company has a seriously
committed and insightful individual
advocating for them. The records and
LN2 are always impressive, but those
come and go. Such interactions though
are far and few in between and in a
way, shows just how GALAX has been
able to achieve this much in such a
short period of time.
Certainly, one of the highlights
during the entire Computex tour. No
wonder there’s great respect for HOF
components, in particular graphics
cards and DRAM modules.
