Here comes another premium CORSAIR gaming keyboard for you . This time , offering a few minor tweaks and changes to a tried and tested formula . As always , it is a high-end offering and likely one positioned at those who are either professional and / or competitive gamers . Not surprising as they stand the most to gain from all such keyboards especially this one which touts its unique key switches as a major selling point . That however , doesn ’ t mean it isn ’ t suitable for the discerning gamer looking for a keyboard that will last years on end and of course offer the comfort , performance and aesthetic look they desire as well .

To that end CORSAIR has stuck with a familiar design language featuring an anodized brushed aluminium frame that serves to make up for nearly all the weight of the keyboard . All keys are RGB

LED lit and can be configured individually to perform any number of functions along with corresponding colour changes for said functions . Most of that is software , but it is an RGB keyboard and such things are part of what makes this an appealing offering . Probably even more so than the last Corsair keyboard I covered in some ways ( Strafe MX-Silent ). The ideal combination or option though is a combination of these two and it becomes very apparent the more time one spends with the Rapidfire .
As mentioned earlier , the key selling point here is the use of Cherry MX-Speed switches , which , If you don ’ t know already , have a shorter 1.2mm actuation distance as compared to the more regular 2mm . This is a small change that isn ’ t easy to spot visually but one you can certainly feel . Hitting the keys is just so much faster and you end up needing slightly less force of course .
Going back to what I had said earlier about the best solution being a possible hybrid technology . The keys are still quite loud and in an environment with others , the noise can get a little annoying . So some of the silent technology with the shorter
