RENEE WRIGHT FEATURE THE T U N O CO C LADY R Written by Jacqueline Walker- Johnson Photo Credit: Roger McCook enee Wright known as The Coconut Lady does not deny that she was a little scared when she was diagnosed with Lymphoma over 4 years ago. She was not scared of the disease but was scared of the process of having to do the sur- gery and getting chemotherapy and radiation so much so she walked away from her doctor with the biopsy request and never looked back. In Reneeā€™s words - I did not choose traditional medicine over mod- ern medicine for any reason but the fact that I was scared, wheth- er this was safe or not I do not know but that was my choice. Her journey was not the conventional one that most of us are aware of, which includes having surgery then undergoing che- motherapy and radiation Renee is very serious about maintaining good health and being fit as she believes it is a big help in warding off diseases. She be- gan her journey to healing by doing her research, she was also for- tunate to have herbalists come o n board to aid in this process. Her treatment included taking coconut oil, carrot juice, beetroot juice, us- ing turmeric and cayenne pepper and taking just about everything that she read was good for treating cancer. She did admit it was a rough process; she likened it to a baby stage where she had to slowly learn how to really take care of herself and her body. It was a hand on ap- proach that she does not regret because she is now able to help others. The discovery of her lymphoma was also unconventional as she was not feeling ill, she did not discover any lumps and she did not suspect that something was awry. She candidly spoke about having surgery to remove fibroids along with a hysterectomy and then later discovering that something was wrong after those surgeries. She was sent for further tests and discovered the lymphoma at this point. While it was a difficult pill to swallow she feels blessed to have discovered it at an early stage.
