I look up at the thin dark clouds that paint the blue sky. The bottom of them are tainted different shades of red, pink, and orange from the sun that starts to set behind the trees. And I begin to search my brain for the list of tidbits Reid told me about Quinn.

2. Oddly obsessed with country music

3. Was a high school jock, when he wasn’t off in other countries

4. Taking classes at the University of California

5. Traveling is his one and most valued hobby

6. His mother died when he was thirteen

7. Values honesty

8. When not traveling, he parties

9. His father owns Stoneway Inc.

10. Currently Single

“Reid told you I was here?” I ask Quinn. I know we are supposed to get together at nine thirty, but it is only eight. My phone chimes into my thoughts, “Continue at a steady pace.” I haven’t finished my run yet. I quickly fumble to turn off my pace tracker as Quinn tells me,

“Reid left his phone at your house, He told me to go get it because his Gero….”

“Gerontology,” I help him. In return he gives me a curt nod and smirks.

“Right, his Gerontology class started a half hour ago. Reid gave me your address, but no one was home,” Quinn finishes explaining.

“Um, well. I am on my run,” I tell him.

“Well you can ride with me. I particularly don’t want to jog in my polo and khakis two miles to your house,” he jokes.

“Sure, plus I probably need to get ready for tonight,” I tell him, kicking myself for losing track of time. I should have been back at my house a half hour ago. I need to take a shower and change in only an hour.
