Cranium

By McKenzie Mills

Where I am I do not know

It's black as the night

At the same time so light

All I really know is that I am alone

The cold cruel cat

Her majesty too

When you're in her presence, up at bat

You better agree or life is blew

She's a killer, so very shrewd

Fire that I've fallen upon

It runs through, then rolls out like a baton

Hatred matching the fall ridden leaves

Horrific storms and apathetic thieves

Empathy and emotion are lost in her care

Sometimes it can come back stronger

Although truly it isn't fair

At times you proclaim, "I can't wait much longer"

A bloody blade used to kill

You aren't sure where you've gone

But it gives you a thrill

To then peer out on your lawn

Life is precious, you say to her majesty

She screams in discomfort and dismay

Only thinking of your daily activities

The ultimate goal is so far away

Oh, when will it finally be the end of the day?

Only when the crows fly

Death is the smell hitting the air

You're afraid, and you want to die

Life has left but a tear

You wake up the next day

Everything seems well

You will complete your battle again, not in your forte

For now though you're just under her spell

Oh cranium, her majesty controls you well
