All competitors expressed what a great experience they had both on the water and off water enjoying support from all parts of our Club including Food & Beverage. The Yacht Racing Committee has had some changes and the Fleet Representatives now meet separately to bring a joint report to the Committee. We have a separate 8 The The Alfred’s Alfreds Yachtsman Yachtsman team working on courses and the annual sailing handbook in order to make them more user friendly. The Technical Race Officer program we have introduced this year has seen new Race Officers being mentored in order to give a more consistent approach to on-water Race Management. Thank you to everyone involved for your efforts during a difficult gestation period to get this program up and running. The Race Office together with our Training team have introduced a new program this year to transition people from Learn to Sail to sailing on different club members’ boats to enrich their sailing experience and all reports to date have been very encouraging. Like all clubs, we need to engage the 30 to 40 year old group back into sailing. To this end the Board is supporting a One Design concept to encourage more participation and Jason Antill has been working hard to implement this plan. Finally, I would like to thank the members of the Yacht Racing Committee, Race Officers and Sailing Office staff for their time and commitment to our Club to ensure we can all go sailing.
