State Championship, ninth at the Milson Silver Goblets, 23rd at the National
Championship, 25th at the NSW State championship, 19th in a tough conditions at
the recent Australasian Mid-Winter championship, and third at the Brisbane Etchells

RPAYC Commodore, Ian Audsley, and his team on Kalika won the Broken Bay Sprint
Series and placed second in the Inshore Sprint Series. The team had a particular
eventful year with Kalika 1 being lost in a strong storm in November in 2014, so
the team is now racing Ian’s new Etchell, Kalika 3 AUS1314 (Ian’s Laser is Kalika 2).
Kalika 3 achieved 31st place at the Australasian Mid-Winter championships with
Ian, Gordon Otten and Bruce Dey on board.
Several RPAYC members raced in these and other major Etchells regattas over the
past year including David Ritchard, Richie Allanson, Andrew Gavenlock, Iain Murray
and Phil Smidmore.

RPAYC members enjoyed an action packed year racing in Club, State, National,
Australasian and World Championship Etchells One Design (OD) events. Our activities
demonstrate the breadth of competition available in the Etchells class, from fun club
racing to some of the highest level one-design competition possible.

(i.e. Rhode Island, USA in June/July 2014).
The Hole Way won the NSW State Championships held on Sydney Harbour in February.
The team placed a very close second to John Bertrand’s Triad at the hotly contested
Etchells National Championship held in Adelaide in January. Cameron and Grant
sailed with James Mayo in the Etchells Australasian Mid-Winter Championship held
off Mooloolaba in June 2015 achieving second.
