A ARM DEVELOPMENT
50 BERTH FIXED PILE MARINA
O
n the 31 August this year, the Club
completed its development on the
new A Arm Marina. This is the third
generation of Marina in this location,
the first being a 50 berth fixed pile
marina constructed in 1962. The second a Fletcher
Construction 70 berth marina completed in 1990
and now a 57 Berth Bellingham Marine built floating
marina which is expected to remain in operation until
approximately 2045.
The state of the art marina specifically designed for
an average vessel size of 45ft reduces the total number of
berths from 70 to 57 due to the increasing beams of the
new style vessels. The marina was designed with a “boat
harbour” on the boat yard end to maximise the usable
water space. It includes carbon fibre thru rods which are
impervious to rust, three phase power included on the
14 metre and larger berths, and the Club’s second ship
to shore pump out system located on the Boat Yard end
of the marina.
