CORAL COAST F or those of us at home enjoying the cold the Coral Coast Cruise has been enjoying unprecedented good weather. The Cruise reached Dunk Island as its most northerly point with ‘Novea’ going on to Lizard Island. As the Coral Coast Cruise reaches its end with only one more rendezvous at Bundaberg it has been a great adventure. All participants have their own stories from crossing the Wide Bay Bar for the fist time, to lazy days at Lady Musgrave where the water is so clear you can see your anchor in eight meters of water. There were the Percy Islands, the Whitsundays, toad racing on Magnetic, crocodiles in Hinchinbrook, snorkelling with giant clams at Orpheus or catching your dinner and picking up a couple of dozen oysters off the rocks on the way. The best part is sharing the adventures with friends and having a quiet drink watching the sun go down. We can catch up with all the latest cruising activity on our alfredscruising Facebook page. Back home, at the last coupl e of First Fridays, we have been entertained by The Little Fields band and heard from Chris and Suzanne Daly on their shakedown cruise to New Zealand. Cruising is racking up the miles this winter and looking ahead to summer. Coming up we have the October long weekend at Bobbin Head, a weekend at Dangar Island and several estuary cruises into the bays of Cowan Creek. For Christmas we are off to the Harbour for NYE and then to Port Hacking and Jervis Bay. LEON WILSON YAC H T SMA N 93
