Located in Notting Hill, ‘Cloud Twelve Club’ offers a retreat for like-minded friends and families to share experiences, treat one another, and escape from the bustle of daily city life. The club is an exclusive space, situated discretely within a mews, a location that formerly housed the Museum of Brands on Colville Mews. ‘Cloud Twelve Club’ extends over three floors and 1000sqm to offer customers a holistic spa, premium beauty therapies by Aromatherapy Associates and a state of the art alternative medicine clinic as well as children’s indoor playground and state of the art learning and development programmes. Award- winning chef, Stu Henshall, founder of The Alternative Kitchen, will be overseeing the menus of the accompanying organic, vegan brasserie. Due to the very specific nature of the many individual elements that make up the project, the building comprises five integrated, but different, environments within one building – providing a considerable design challenge. Melt Design Hub have responded positively to the spatial complexities of the existing building and the demands of the brief by creating a ‘Swiss watch’ effect plan, where each area works closely but harmoniously with another. Internally, the spaces have been designed to offer the feeling of escape and a getaway, providing parents and carers with support and relaxation and offering children inspiring and safe places to learn through play and imagination. Melt Design Hub have brought these complex and carefully planned elements together by creating spaces which act a as journey through a series of scenes or experiences. Many are inspired by the client’s travels and utilise a broad range of materials from hand carved, bespoke timber and stone from Bali, gold leaf Italian mosaic to abstract Hanami patterns from Japan. Website: www.meltdesignhub.com Melt Design Hub’s Design Director, Asif Iqbal, said: "We are very passionate and committed to the Cloud 12 vision. It’s innovative, brave and has genuine integrity. It has been exciting and challenging combining the seemingly disparate functions of the brief into one place - crèche, play space and spa. However, through lots of discussions with our client, careful development of the design and rigorous testing of ideas, we feel we have created a synergistic and seamless environment that will set a new benchmark for the design of members clubs." The Notting Hill site, opening in March 2018, will be the first in line for a series of global concept openings.
