24 the World Of Hospitality Dine News Dine’s Contribution To The Community Recognised By Shortlisting Leeds-based hospitality and event planner Dine has been shortlisted for its extensive work with charities in a prestigious regional award. TheBusinessDesk Business Masters Awards recognise and showcase the achievements and success of businesses in Yorkshire. Over the last year, Dine has used its catering and hospitality expertise to support several charities and organisations in the region, principally partnering with the Leeds Community Foundation (LCF) and the Friends of Roundhay Park. LCF connects philanthropists to make a difference in Leeds. Dine is an active member of its patronage scheme and provides financial and practical help to organisations with which the LCF works. These include the Real Junk Food Project in Armley, a ‘pay as you feel’ café which uses donated food to make healthy fresh food accessible to all, as well as reducing food waste. Dine donated a professional catering fridge and equipment to set up its kitchen. In addition, Dine provided practical help in the form of catering consultancy for health inequality charity Zest for Life’s community café in Gipton and cookery classes for ReNew Leeds, a charity working with people recovering from addiction. Most recently, working with its suppliers, Dine supplied Christmas hampers for some of the most deprived families in Leeds through Kidz Klub Leeds. Dine founder Daniel Gill and two Dine staff members also completed the national Three Peaks challenge last year, raising more than £2,000 for LCF and good causes in Leeds. Based at The Mansion in Roundhay Park, Dine provides local charity the Friends of Roundhay Park with meeting space for their committee meetings in The Mansion. The charity works with Leeds City Council to maintain and improve visitor facilities in the park. Dine is also a sponsor of the Friends of Roundhay Park calendar which raises funds for park equipment.
