Pub with rooms, Worplesdon Place,
opens following £1m renovation
Worplesdon Place near Guildford opens on March 17
following a £1,000,000 renovation project undertaken
by new owners, Redcomb Pubs Ltd. The 19th century
country manor house was purchased by the pub
operator in September 2015, who have worked hard
to reinstate the venue to its former glory as a boutique
country pub with rooms.
Worplesdon Place has traded for many years as a midrange small hotel under mass market brand owners
such as Beefeater, Premier Inn and Bespoke Hotels.
Redcomb Pubs acquired the site to add to its growi ng
portfolio of pubs with rooms, taking its total number
of rooms across the group to over 100.
Situated in leafy Surrey, Worplesdon Place has been
stylishly and sympathetically re-designed to enhance
the character of the original building and the stunning
surroundings in which it is set. New look Worplesdon
Place incorporates an elegant family friendly dining
area, rustic and retro bar area fitted with an eyecatching backdrop of real ales and premium wines,
spirits and soft drinks and an appealing al fresco
terraced dining area, perfect for leisurely lunches and
warm summer eves. The venue also incorporates 29
updated and individually designed boutique en-suite
bedrooms, including bridal suite, luxury and midrange bedrooms and a ground floor fully accessible
bedroom.
The new menu developed and delivered for the site
by experienced Group Head Chef, Chris Spencer,
features a medley of traditional pub classics made
with prime locally sourced ingredients, a flame grilled
rotisserie section, stone baked pizzas, and for the more
adventurous, a seasonal specials menu catered to
today’s more discerning diner.
Set within two acres of stunning landscaped gardens
and its own lake, Worplesdon Place is also set to
become one of Surrey’s favourite wedding destinations.
