Introducing One&Only Sanya On Hainan, Prc
Property To Be The First One&Only Resort In China
Kerzner International Holdings Limited, which
through its subsidiaries is a leading international
developer and operator of destination resorts,
casinos and luxury hotels, in partnership with China
Gezhouba Group Real Estate, is pleased to announce
that construction has commenced on One&Only
Sanya on Haitang Bay on Hainan in China. Featuring
192 luxurious guest rooms, suites and villas,
One&Only Sanya will command enviable views of
azure waters from over 380 metres of private coastline
and over 11 hectares of coconut palms set amidst
dramatic water gardens throughout the resort. This
will be the first resort in China for the ultra-luxury
One&Only brand and is expected to establish a whole
new level of luxury experience for the region.
One&Only Resorts are set in some of the most
beautiful locations in the world. Each award-winning
resort offers guests a distinctive style and personality
borne of its local culture, a genuine hospitality and
a lively energy that is unparalleled. These seven
properties include the iconic One&Only Reethi Rah in
the Maldives; One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius;
One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai; One&Only
Ocean Club in The Bahamas; One&Only Palmilla in
Los Cabos, Mexico; One&Only Cape Town in South
Africa and One&Only The Palm in Dubai. A further
One&Only has been announced for Montenegro,
the first resort in Europe for the collection, as well as
One&Only Jeddah, the first resort in The Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia. In addition, the iconic Australian
resort Hayman Island is currently undergoing a multimillion dollar refurbishment and will be reborn as
One&Only Hayman Island on The Great Barrier Reef
in July 2014, when One&Only assumes management.
One&Only Sanya will establish the benchmark for
ultra-luxury in the region, offering the most luxurious
guest accommodation of any beachfront resort, whilst
placing an emphasis on privacy. The resort will evoke
a true ‘sense of place’; using materials that showcase
the natural elements of Hainan with a contemporary
feel. Jean Michel Gathy, Principal of Denniston
International Architects, has been engaged for the
design, working with Kerzner’s development and
design team lead by Sol Kerzner, Chairman, Kerzner
International and Alan Leibman, CEO. Jean Michel
was part of the team that developed the awardwinning One&Only Reethi Rah in The Maldives for
Kerzner International. In addition, Bensley Design
Studios will complement the design of the resort
through landscape architecture, highlighting the local
flora and fauna found on Hainan as well as stunning
water features throughout. Guest accommodations
will range from two to four bedroom private villas
and a Presidential suite to executive suites and guest
rooms, to be situated within either the main Manor
House or Mansions, providing an exclusive, residential
feel.
