For our maintenance (PPM) clients, we attend each site to educate the staff on how to avoid needless call outs, such as over stocking, leaving the cold room door open and avoiding incidents where the power supply to a refrigeration cabinet is turned off.” One of Synecore’s most challenging projects was for a meat curing room at SMOAK Restaurant in Manchester, owned by Malmaison Hotels. The curing room was to become a centre piece to the front of house restaurant. It needed to be lit perfectly in order to display the hung meats in an artistic manor, while providing the ideal ambient temperature for curing meat. “Every walk-in cold room we design is bespoke and this project was testament to our ability to follow a very strict design brief,” explains Thomas. “The angles were very tight, however this suited our insulated panel system, which meant we could cut them very accurately and use every inch of space.
